This program is based on the reference elements presented in its introduction and aims to address the problematic situation related to strategies and activities that can be carried out to reduce gender inequality in Angola, particularly those generated by inequalities in access to education, higher education, scientific activity, and innovation.
Óscar Ribas University plays a fundamental role in the high-level qualification of women and youth in general, based on comprehensive training. In this education for citizenship, it values the development of creativity and the ability to work on equal terms with men, closely related to scientific research.
In order to align institutional actions, its lines, and guidelines, Óscar Ribas University is oriented towards solving local and national problems, providing services to the community, disseminating and transferring knowledge about gender, and adding value to the institution itself, in accordance with Presidential Decree No. 310/20, of December 7, which establishes the legal regime for the higher education subsystem in line with the results published by the European Commission Research and Innovation Strategy 2020-2024.
Program objectives:
Promote strategic lines and cross-cutting activities for managing a university environment that influences the reduction of gender inequality based on a more inclusive conception of Óscar Ribas University.
Strategic lines:
- Strengthen the organizational culture, based on jurisdiction, regarding gender equity and respect for human rights and women.
- Promote leadership in women on equal terms with men.
- Inclusive culture as a transversal axis of the training process, considering the articulation between the academic-researcher-publisher of university extension activities.
- Address gender-based violence, including actions to combat sexual harassment practices at the university.
- Promote strategic alliances with other institutions and organizations in the fight against gender inequality.
